Heavy Rain Alert in Haryana

Sudden weather changes on Thursday disrupted Dussehra celebrations in Haryana. Rainfall was reported in Hisar, Panipat, Sonipat, Yamunanagar, Jhajjar, and Ambala. The Meteorological Department has issued a rainfall alert in 12 districts including Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Jhajjar, Mahendragarh, Gurugram, Faridabad, Nuh, and Palwal.

From 4–5 October 2025, heavy rainfall is expected across most parts of the state. Northwesterly winds will also lower the temperature after 7 October, marking the onset of winter.

Dussehra Celebrations Affected by Rain

In many districts, Ravana effigies could not be burnt due to heavy showers. In Ambala, effigies were partially burnt while in Hisar and Panipat, some collapsed before ignition. In Bahadurgarh, a 51-feet Ravana fell due to soaking rain.
